I had a weird dream where I was in a mall and I was about 15 which is not my actual age irl I’m younger and me and mom were going to Korea. I saw a child with pigtails and a babydoll dress and I went over to her cause she was alone. Out of a sudden, she asked me if I wanted to touch up on my makeup fluently and she even cursed as well. I was shocked but I said sure, she waited for me for a long time while the makeup artists did my makeup (btw makeup is a hobby of mine irl) and the kid waited outside which I appreciated. After that, I was thinking of a bad thing, greediness. I was planning to ask her for money, but when I went to her she immediately changed into a adult sized “monster looking” thing, I was scared of course but she said, “I’m happy I saw u again! :)” and I felt happy to see her too, my greediness was gone and she said “Let’s get out of here without paying.” And I followed and ran with her happily. Why? Why did I still follow her in my dreams? She wasn’t a haunted ghost or anything, just a shapeshifter something? And is it about my kindness or something?
Dreams often reflect our subconscious thoughts, emotions, and experiences, serving as a narrative for our inner struggles or desires. Your dream is rich with symbolism and invites a deeper reflection on your feelings and aspirations.
Setting: The Mall The mall is a space of social interaction, self-expression, and consumerism—representing choices and external influences in your life. Being younger than your actual age in the dream may symbolize feelings of youthfulness, innocence, or even the sense of being in a transitional phase.
Traveling to Korea with Your Mom Traveling signifies exploration and seeking new experiences or understanding. Since your mother is with you, this aspect might reflect your reliance on familial support during a journey of growth or a desire to explore your cultural heritage, especially if you have an interest in Korea. This could also symbolize a quest for comfort and safety in your ventures.
The Child with Pigtails The child represents purity and innocence, combined with the unexpected traits (like cursing and asking about makeup) that hint at maturity. This duality might illustrate your own struggle between childhood innocence and the complexities of growing up. The doll dress suggests nostalgia for simpler times and a connection to your childhood dreams or fantasies.
Makeup as a Hobby Makeup, as a hobby, symbolizes creativity and transformation in your life. The act of getting your makeup done while being cared for by the child points to your desire for self-expression and acceptance. The fact that the child waits for you reflects the importance of patience and nurturing relationships during your formative years.
Greediness and Transformation Your initial thought of greediness indicates a moment of self-awareness about wanting more than what is fair or necessary. When the child transforms into a "monster-looking" adult figure, it may signify a confrontation with your desires or darker impulses, such as materialism and entitlement. However, the promise of joy when meeting the adult creature shows that you still maintain a deep-seated kindness and willingness to embrace change, even in uncertain situations.
The Exciting Escape The final act of escaping without paying suggests a surrendering to spontaneity and the thrill of living in the moment. It signifies a departure from traditional values of responsibility, hinting at youthful exuberance and the occasional desire to break free from adult constraints.
Conclusion: Your dream embodies themes of innocence, self-discovery, creativity, and the tension between childhood and adulthood. The child/monster could represent your complex relationship with your ambitions, desires, and the person you are growing into. The duality signifies that kindness and understanding can coexist with the more tumultuous aspects of life. Following the creature symbolizes a desire to reconcile those sides of yourself, allowing joy to take precedence over greed and fear.
In essence, your dream illustrates a journey of embracing both your innocence and mature desires, blending them harmoniously into the person you're becoming. It's a beautiful reminder to maintain that joy and creativity as you navigate the complexities of life.
